Our Mission

ThockFactor exists to bring scientific rigor to keyboard sound quality assessment. We believe mechanical keyboard enthusiasts deserve a data-driven way to measure, compare, and celebrate the acoustic characteristics of their keyboards-free from subjective bias and guesswork.

What We Do

We analyze keyboard audio recordings using deterministic signal processing algorithms to generate a standardized ThockFactor score (0–100) and detailed acoustic metrics. Our scoring system evaluates:

ThockFactor is built by a keyboard enthusiast who wanted to answer a simple question: "Can we measure keyboard sound objectively?" The result is a deterministic audio analysis engine that produces consistent, reproducible scores for any keyboard recording.

Why ThockFactor Exists

The mechanical keyboard community has grown exponentially, but keyboard sound assessment remains highly subjective. Forum discussions devolve into opinion wars. YouTube videos rely on reviewer bias. There's no universal standard.

ThockFactor changes that by providing:

How It Works

1. Record - Use your phone or computer to record 10–30 seconds of natural typing on your keyboard.

2. Upload - Submit your audio file (WAV, MP3, M4A, or MP4 format) to ThockFactor.

3. Analyze - Our deterministic algorithm processes the audio and calculates your ThockFactor score and acoustic profile.

4. Discover - View your detailed results, see where your keyboard ranks on the leaderboard, and compare with others.
